GP Partners

DR FRANCES CRANFIELD

(MBBS FRCGP LLM FFFLM DMJ DFLM LRCP MRCS FFFLM DRCOG DFSRH RCPathME)

Qualified from St Mary’s Hospital London in 1976 and undertook her Masters in Law from Cardiff University in 2008. She joined the practice in 1981 as a Partner. She is the Senior Partner at the practice. She has a portfolio career covering mainly medico legal work. She is an Assistant Coroner for Hertfordshire and carries out expert witness work for the civil and criminal courts around the country, tribunals and the GMC. She also represents our colleagues both locally and nationally on the Royal College of General Practitioner’s College Council and sits on the British Medical Association General Practitioner’s Committee. She is the lead on protection of vulnerable children and adults and maternity. In her spare time she enjoys travel and photography, ringing church bells, cinema, gardening and spending time with her family. She works on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

DR ALISTER PARRY

(MBBS, DCH, PgDip, MRCGP. GPwER)

Qualified from St Bartholomews Hospital Medical School, London. He jointed as a Partner in 1996. He is the Executive Partner who is responsible for the overall management of the practice. His special interests include being a GP with an extended role in Dermatology, Minor surgery, Diabetes, General Medicine, Paediatrics and Sports Exercise Medicine. He works Monday to Friday.

DR ANTHEA CECIL

(BSc, MBBS, DRCOG, DGM, DFFP 1993 UK)

Qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 1993. She was a Registrar at the practice in 1999 and joined as a Partner in 2000. Her special interests include Women's and Children’s health, Cancer and Prescribing issues. On Wednesday she works at the QEII breast clinic. In her spare time she loves spending time having fun with her young son, walking her dog, singing and flower arranging in St Alban’s Cathedral. She works on Monday (morning), Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (morning).

DR BEATA MACDOUGALL

(Lekarz Med, MRCGP, DCH)

Dr Beata MacDougall Qualified from the Medical Academy of Lublin, Poland in 1993. She joined the practice as an employed doctor in 1999 and became a Partner in 2004. Her special interests include diabetes and mental health. She is the co-clinical lead for diabetes, looks after residential home patients and is in charge of the nursing team. In her spare time she enjoys running with her dog in the countryside, seeing friends, travel and cooking. She works on Monday Tuesday and Thursday.

DR PREENAL SHAH

(MBBS, BSc, MRCGP)

Joined the practice as a GP Registrar in 2005 and has been a Partner here since 2006. His special interests include coronary heart disease, depression, heart Failure and mental health. He is one of the Finance Partners for the Practice. He is the clinical director of our Primary Care Network (PCN). In his spare time he enjoys reading and going to the gym. He works Monday, Tuesday (half day), Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

DR MARTIN BENFIELD

(MBBS BSc MRCGP)

Qualified from Royal Free Hospital Medical School in 2000. He joined as a Partner in 2009. His special interests include respiratory medicine, minor operations, joint injections and Musculoskeletal conditions. He is the Lead GP for patients with Learning difficulties. He is the lead Trainer for training GP Registrars at the practice. In his spare time he enjoys playing and coaching Cricket, Football and Cycling. He works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

DR STEVEN PRICE

(MBBS, MRCGP)

Qualified from University College London in 2002. He joined as a Partner in 2010. His special interests include elderly care and dementia. He is the prescribing lead for the practice. In his spare time he enjoys making trips to the cinema, playing the ukulele and walking his dog. He works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

DR CHENDORAN KANTHI

(MBBS, DRCOG, MRCGP)

Qualified from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010. He joined as a Partner in 2015. He is one of the Finance Partners for the Practice. His special interests include medical education and is an Associate Trainer within the Practice. He is involved in training medical students, foundation year 2 doctors and GP Registrars. He is the lead GP for eConsultations. In his spare time he enjoys drives in the countryside, walking and cooking. He works Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

DR SADIA NASEER

(MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFSRH)

Qualified from the university of Karachi in 1996. She joined as a Partner in 2017. She has a special interest in family planning and is also an Associate Trainer looking after foundation year 2 doctors and GP Registrars. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with the family, travelling and baking. She works on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

DR AMAR MAROO

(MBBS BSc MRCGP)

Dr Maroo Joined the practice in 2024 as a partner. He qualified from Kings College Medical School in 2011. He worked as a GP in London before joining the practice. Dr Maroo has a wide range of medical interests. He also has a passion for medical education and the training of medical professionals. He is interested in how technology can enhance patient care and has extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of technological innovations into healthcare practice. In his spare time he enjoys running and spending time with his young family.

GP Registrars

We strongly believe in training the future medical work force and have committed to training medical students and junior doctors at the practice. We have a mix of Foundation year 2 doctors (2nd year after qualifying), specialist GP training year 2 and specialist GP training year 3 doctors. These doctors will always be supervised by a GP. We also teach medical students from Cambridge University who will be supervised by a GP during their sessions.

Nurses

The Practice Nurses main tasks include immunisations, cervical smears, dressings, ear syringing, removal of stitches, health checks and smoking cessation.

LEAH DILLINGER

Leah joined the practice in January 2022 and is involved with our general practice nurse clinics. She also performs cervical smears.

LUCY HUMPHREYS

Lucy joined the practice in November 2013 having had several years experience of being a district nurse in the local area. She is our family planning nurse and leads for Asthma and COPD. She also performs cervical smears.

KATE MORGAN

Adult Nursing

Kate joined the practice in 2017. She leads on family planning, womens health and menopause. She also performs cervical smears.

SHEILA TOMAS

Sheila joined the practice in 2019 and is involved with our chronic disease management nurse clinics including general practice nurse clinics.

Healthcare Assistants

GAIL PERT

Gail can help with lifestyle advice, wound care and smoking cessation advice. She can also do blood pressure checks and do ECG's.

Primary Care Network (PCN)

Pharmacists, physiotherapists and social prescribers are employed as part of our Primacy Care Network (PCN) and work at our PCN surgeries.

Administration

There are a number of secretarial and reception staff. Other staff include those involved with the computer system, financial matters and the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of the premises. All practice staff are trained to work in complete confidence and you can be assured that they will do their best to deal with every enquiry in an appropriate and sensitive way.

Community Midwives

Community Midwives, based at Lister Hospital Stevenage, do routine antenatal clinics at Hall Grove. It is usually possible for our own midwife to follow a mother throughout the pregnancy and postnatal care. You can contact Community Midwives via the Lister Hospital.

Community Nurses

The District Nurses provide nursing treatment to patients in their own home at the request of doctors. They may be contacted through a referral from a GP.

Health Visitors

Health Visitors offer help and advice on childcare, immunisations and family problems. They can be contacted on the following numbers: 01707 252450 or 01707 252461.

Cancer Specialist Nurses

Isabel Hospice Community Nurse Specialist. They visit cancer patients in their homes and gives advice and support to them and their families. IHCNS may be contacted through Hall Grove Surgery or the Isabel Hospice on 01707 328500.
